Our Mission: To provide technology, planning and policy development to
promote the efficient and effective application of information technology to
the missions of the State.
Our Vision: To lead the State of Alabama in excellence in information
technology management and to be recognized as a leader in the deployment of
technology resources and infrastructures in the public sector.
FY06 Strategies and Action Plan: Implement a standards and planning function
to investigate, evaluate, test and recommend new technologies and
infrastructures to enhance the efficiency of mission critical processes.

- Evaluate other States’ IT Planning functions
- Design a specific IT standards and IT planning function for Alabama
- Develop FY06 staffing and budget requirements
- Develop policies, procedures and methodologies
FY07 Strategies and Action Plan: To re-establish leadership role within
IT community of the State.
- Study other state IT governance and leadership models
- Implement a multi-year IT planning and budgeting process.
- Implement an architectural development function.
- Implement a comprehensive security management system.
- Establish a dedicated security function
